Overview
Blogs have become a big part of the online marketing world. In the past a blog was mainly used for informational purposes only. People used blogs like a live journal about events and certain topics.
Blogs are now popping up everywhere to promoting pretty much anything including business programs, and are drawing in a ton of free traffic.

So what exactly is a Blog?
A blog is a website where you can submit content and display it either privately or publicly for everyone to see and read. When used properly search engines love the content from a blog as it is fresh and new.
A distinct advantage about blogging is that you can optimize your content around certain keyword phases that you would like to be indexed (ranked) for in the search engines. We will discuss the basics of this soon.
You blog about any topic you wish to, along with embedding video, audio and images.
There are two places that I would recommend for a free Blog:
Blogger.com is a great blog service and has an easier interface for beginners in my opinion.
Wordpress.com is great too but is slight more advanced. It allows a little more control and freedom.
Wordpress.org is for those who have their own domain and would like to host their blog on that domain. YOUniqueReview.com is a self hosted Wordpress Blog. I only recommend this for people who have advanced website and hosting skills. The advantage of having this set up is that you have full control of your blog and no content can be banned from your host, since you are the host.
If you’re just starting out I recommend that you use either blogger.com or wordpress.com

What to Write in Your Blog
Once you’ve set up your blog the next step is to start writing content but the big question people ask is, “What exactly should I be writing about?” Well pretty much everything and anything!
Here are some ideas to write about:
You and your story (This is very important to build your personal brand)
- Working at home
- How to make money online
- YOUnique Wealth
- Gold & precious metals
- The economy
- Bob Proctor
- Gerry Robert
- Other programs
- Product reviews
- Software and online marketing tools
- Different ways to market your program
- Specific features of YOUnique Wealth
- Holidays & adventures of yours
- Current events
Basically any topic that people will be searching for in Google that pertains relevant to you, your personality and your business.
This is the same thing you would do when writing an article or press release. First you would research a topic and once you know enough about it then you would write a 200 to 300 words about that topic and post it to the web.
It is a good idea after writing any online article or press release to post it on your blog as well.
Remember to keep your blog informational, and never try to sell people as this can be very off putting.

How To Get Your Blog Ranked
Getting your blog ranked in the search engines like Google is a very simple and easy thing to do.
First, pick a keyword or keyword phrase that you wish to target. Remember that when you pick your keyword make sure that it does not have millions of searches per month. I will discuss keyword research further on the Paid Search PPC page.
Once you find a good keyword, use this word or phrase in your blog post title. The title is the first thing that Google and other search engines recognize when they are indexing new content.
Next up depending on the size of your post, use the keyword in the body of your content at least 5 - 10 times, but remember to not over do it as this could be considered spam to the search engines and your post may not be indexed at all.
As a rule of thumb the keyword density should be around 2 - 3 % of the total word count in your post.
Bolding your keyword three or four times throughout the post using the HTML Code Your Keyword will give the keyword more weight in the eyes of the search engine. Also make sure that you use your keyword in your first and last sentences of your blog post. This is another small trick that will help increase your ranking.
Finally, use your keyword as anchor text to link back to your main website.

After you’re done that you need to “ping” your blog.

How To Ping Your Blog
The next step to assist your blog ranking is to ping your blog post. When you ping your blog you’re telling search engines and directories that you’ve just updated your blog with fresh new content.
Right after you make your post on your blog the next step will be to visit either www.pingoat.com or www.pingomatic.com
Once you’re at the ping website, enter in your blogs name followed by the blog URL. Next, check/tick all of the boxes, click the submit button and wait about 45 seconds for the process to be completed.
Once this is complete you’ve just sent a message to all the search engines and blog directories telling them you’ve updated your blog! The search spiders will visit your blog soon after to analyze your content for indexing.
